Hi All,
I have 1 year full time experience being a Patient safety associate/phamacovigilance associate in a pharmaceutical industry. I currently have a full time job in a pharmaecutical company. I want to apply for my PR but am confused about the category. Is 4165 the right category?

My job profile includes majorly:
-Pateint safety reports medical reviewing and reporting to concerned regulatory authorities like health canada.
-Maintaining the safety database and monitoring compliance
-Performing quality checks (QC) on data integrity
-May assist in the preparation of Safety reports & Risk Management plans
-Ensure company compliance with regulatory guidelines pertaining to Risk Management Programs and Pharmacovigilance Systems
-Maintain consistent and accurate patient data electronically by way of discrepancy management and organization.

Any advice and help will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds right to me.

Hi Didee,

I am in the same boat as you were some time ago, so i will really appreciate if you could please guide me regarding the correct NOC code for pharmacovigilance :'(. I am a dentist by qualification and have been working in pharmacovigilance (Aggregate reporting) for 2+ years. Hope to hear from your soon! Thanks for the reply in advance!

Hard to say without knowing who you work for (don't need a name, just type of business/organization), and more about what you do exactly - it could range from "scientist" to "clerk" -

I am pharmacovigilance analyst and have work profile similar to what was quoted in the initial question as follows:

Pateint safety reports medical reviewing and reporting to concerned regulatory authorities like health canada.
-Maintaining the safety database and monitoring compliance
-Performing quality checks (QC) on data integrity
-May assist in the preparation of Safety reports & Risk Management plans
-Ensure company compliance with regulatory guidelines pertaining to Risk Management Programs and Pharmacovigilance Systems
-Maintain consistent and accurate patient data electronically by way of discrepancy management and organization.

thanks for your help!

Hi Noor,
4165 sounds correct for your profile. But please remember that I applied before the express entry rule came into effect. If there is any change in the definition of code 4165 after January 2015 then I am not aware of it. Hope this helps.

It's still not sufficiently clear to me whether 4165 is the correct NOC. Do you work for a pharmaceutical firm, a research organization? Who do you report to?

Check out these two other NOCs before you decide (based on lead statement and job duties). They are all skill level A.

NOC 2172

NOC 1252

Did u find any code for pharmacovigilance as I am also in the same field. I feel 4165 has some duties which are matching our profile.

my experience is in ICSR. have u applied already under NOC 4165 or yet to apply...

I guess some of our responsibilities r matching for example maintaining database, reviewing literature, collecting info from HCP/patients etc. some other duties we can modify a little...

Hello all,
I am a Sr Drug safety Associate and i have been working as a for the past 3 yrs. I am into case processing of ICSR and also into Regulatory Reporting. I did check with consultancies here but they seem to not have a clear cut idea about our job profile. Please do let me know if you come across an appropriate NOC code and I will do the same. I sincerely hope we get an opportunity to apply as well.

Thanks & Regards,
Simon.

Hi simon,

I applied under NOC 4165, from what we gathered this is the NOC for pharmacovigilance.
