I'm a recent history masters graduate and able to play piano up to level 5? If I was to act as a private tutor in either history or piano, would this be classed as an illegal "cash in hand" type job? I can't risk breaking any laws as my partner is Canadian and need to do everything legally. I don't mean being employed full time, just tutoring here and there. Thanks [flash=200,200][/flash]

Yes - it's illegal work.

Provided you are allowed to work in Canada, then provided you declare and pay taxes on any income received "cash in hand" then that's perfectly legal. If in doubt ring the canada revenue agency and ask.

OP is not eligible to work in Canada.
