Brother - ecas is not reliable. It is always erronous and does not give a real picture.
Please dont go by that.

can you please explain me how the ielts score is calculated?

IELTS Scores are calculated as mentioned below:

Listening : 7.5
Speaking : 6.5
Reading : 6.5
Writing : 6.5

U get 4 points in each category if you score exactly the points mentioned above or more than that. Any thing less than this will fetch you 2 points. Lets say u score exact points in first 3 categories and 5.5 in writing. Then you get 4+4+4+2 = 14 points in all. Hope this explains!

All the best! Go Canada!

Please refer to CIC guide for IELTS score calculation:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/EG72.asp

Total possible points from IELTS are 4 x 4 = 16 points. So since you got 10 points, you must have dropped 6 points.

An example of how one may have obtained 10 points is as follows:

Speaking IELTS band score 6.5, translates to 4 points
Listening IELTS band score 7.0, translates to 2 points
Reading IELTS band score 6.0, translates to 2 points
Writing IELTS band score 6.0, translates to 2 points

Example total = 10 points. Please check your IELTS score result to identify which of the 4 skills you need more points.

Note: Listening has higher IELTS band score requirement

And you only need 1 more point to get 67. So work like mad on IELTS technique and resit quickly. If possible, try to resubmit before end June when there may be changes???

Good Luck!

still not well answer what I look for, is it rejected after 2nd AOR in-process or before 2nd AOR means they not issued you 2nd AOR?
I hope you get it and answer to know more causes of rejection.

sorry to hear that but language ability will help you improve more marks dont wait and appeared for IELTS.

send fresh document and new ielts score asap
do not wait for document

What about the documents which were sent orignals??

Any idea what would be the new criteria/distribution of IELTS score if the points are made 20 for the first language???

Hi - if you can, take an IELTS test within the next 3/4 weeks and re-apply right away, if you manage to improve your score.

The reason for this is that you cannot guarantee that your NOC will still be on the list after 1st July 2011 and the entire points system will change anyway. Also the new propose points system puts even more emphasis on language (you can score up to 20 points) so it is possible you will fall ever shorter of points after 1st July.

Or you can play long and wait for 1st July, see how the points and any changes to the occupation list shape up. Either way I think you will need to improve your language, or as the other poster says secure a job offer (which will get you 15 more points) to be eligible.

I wish you the best of luck!
Wayne.
