EDIT: Okay I understand now sorry! Had a brain freeze thanks to some ice cream earlier :)

It could be Tel Aviv. Wherever the applicant is currently living or is a citizen of or is living would be where the VO is :) Damascus is closed.

Perfect, makes sense. Thanks a bunch! I had some ice cream today too! :)

You realize of course that high % of the first 20% are refusals?

Hi PMM,

Where did you get this information?

Well if you want it you are going to have to do a little bit of work. Go to http://www.canlii.org/en/ca/irb/index.html Search on spouse sponsorship and the office you are interested in. Then go through each refusal and determine the date of the application and then the date of the refusal. That is your baseline for the number of months, between A & B. Now you go to Open Data.ca and download the spreadsheet with the processing time for the office you are interested in. Then you compare the two. Then you can work out what % of refusals are in each reported time period.

Why is Buffalo still listed on the CIC website when it's closed??

Being's I'm from Washington State, is it likely that my PR app would be transfered there for processing?

Any way to find out what the States VO's processing time is?

No, it will be transferred to Ottawa.

That's what's confusing me too. Mine went to LA says Ottawa. They "do not have" my file any longer and it went to LA which is why everytime I see someone say the VO will be Ottawa, I start sweating O_O

Ottawa is still the VO just like Buffalo was the VO. Technically, they are/were regional processing centers which can outsource parts to their satellite offices (like LA) but you can't pick LA or Detroit or NY as they are just satellites. So CPC-M will transfer it to Ottawa who can delegate parts of it but the VO is still technically Buffalo. That's why Buffalo had RPC (regional processing center) in it's name on the listing. There's additional details in interview if you take a look.

WOW. What a read that was!

So, after reading through several posts, am I understanding this correctly- All applications for Outland processing goes to Mississagua (for Stage 1-the Sponorship approval), who then transfers it to Ottawa (for Stage 2-the PR application portion), who then can forward to a satellite office?

Yes, for US based applicants.

Ah...I see.....good cow, my app is going to travel more than I will! :P
