Quiet weekends are when I pull out my Lord of the Rings Trilogy, golf clubs, or canoe! or cook and get fat

Hi

You realize of course that high % of the first 20% are refusals?

Hi, PMM,

What is your source for this? I'd sure love to see the % breakdown.

Hey All,

I myself was sponsored along with my family by my Uncle some 24 years ago. The Visa office was Tel-Aviv then.

I am sponsoring my spouse from Lebanon this time. Does this mean, it will be Tel-Aviv again? I am about to submit my application for Step 1 soon. Wish me luck :)

Thanks in advance.

Nope, Beirut, Lebanon will be your office. Make sure you send both her part of the application and yours TOGETHER.

Thanks for the quickly reply. Since Beirut isn't listed; do I refer to the Damascus processing speed for an idea? Or will it be different?

EDIT: Okay I understand now sorry! Had a brain freeze thanks to some ice cream earlier :)

It could be Tel Aviv. Wherever the applicant is currently living or is a citizen of or is living would be where the VO is :) Damascus is closed. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/media/releases/2012/2012-01-31a.asp)

Rome... double the time than the other european VOs... 50% 7 months.. 80% 13 months...

what can i say...

Does CIC-M or CIC-O label the applications in such a way as to expedite them when they arrive at the visa office? For example, if all IMM forms for both sponsor and applicant are filled correctly, all supporting evidence is adequate, will the visa officer in Canada note something so that the PR processing time is done a lot faster?

Someone on my wife's instant messaging group said that she got her visa through Hong Kong in 3 months from the date of the AOR. That's a lot faster than the 20% (6 months).

Thanks,

FS

FS....pretty sure it is the luck of the draw....just like at CIC-M......end of May waited 30 days begining of april was what 80-90 days.......they are suppose to do in date received order as far as I know......

I see...I guess we get put in line...when the visa office gets to our app, depending on how good it is, that is what determines the speed...

3 months!! That's our goal...or by the end of the year!
