Hello,

I was selected (CSQ) under Quebec-High Skilled program (April 2011).

My application has been received by Buffalo visa office 15th May, 2011. Medical results have done 5th Nov. 2011; till then didn't hear anything neither from Buffalo nor from CPP-Ottawa. I sent an email to CPP-Ottawa around May 28th but did not get any response. Please share your time-line.

Thanks.

I share the same fate. I had my CSQ in Oct. 2010. then applied for the federal in Dec. 2010. I did my medical in May 2011. and then in Feb. 2012 they told me that my file is about to be finalized. almost 5 months passed and no response from Ottawa. At least Buffalo would respond our emails. some crummy automated mail only. Ottawa does not even do that. Let's find some forums to see what's happening in Ottawa.
cheers

I applied to Buffalo June 16, 2011. Did my medicals in October 2011 and have not heard a word from them since.
Contacted CPP Ottawa today and got this response (see below).
It has been 14 months and 5 days since my application. Normal processing time for Buffalo was 15 months the last time I looked. Yesterday it was removed from the CIC site.
Contacted the CIC call centre and they could not tell me how long the CPP will take to process applications.
Emailed CPP right back and asked them to provide me with current standard processing times for applications now at their office (given that this information is not available online).

Incredibly frustrated that a QSW application could take 14 months.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Due to the high volume of correspondence received, we are unable to provide a status update to you. The officer responsible for your file will contact you if any action is required from you. Please note the standard processing times for applications for permanent residence within the category in which you have applied are available on our website. In the meantime, please ensure your information is kept up-to-date, particularly if there is a change in your marital status or in the event of a birth or death in your family. You must also advise this office of any change to your contact information, such as a change in your residential or e-mail address.

Regards,

Hello MyCat,

Thanks for your reply. I sent them an email three days ago and got a feedback late noon.

I wrote to my local MP, and his office was able to get a response for me.
My file arrived in Ottawa July 22.
It is apparently being dealt with but I may have to wait a few more weeks.
If I don't hear from Ottawa by mid-October, my MP has told me to call/email his office and his people will chase up the file.

They can't move things along faster but they can provide much needed information.
If enough people get their MPs to put pressure on immigration perhaps they will realise that their responses of "cannot provide a status update" are unacceptable for people who have been waiting > 15 months.

Notice how there is no reference to normal processing times for OttPilot on their website?

Hello lepatissier07,

Thanks for your update. How much did you pay for CAIPS service?

How long it lakes for you to get the report?

CAIPS is free if you apply from within Canada and select the Privacy Act option.
Search for form IMM5563E on the CIC website.

What do you mean by MP? Parliment member?
