Hi,

I'm applying for M.Eng in ECE (software) in following univs - U of Alberta, U of Western Ontario, U of Ottawa, U of Victoria, Carleton, UOIT.
My profile - B.Tech - 7.78/10 (Electronics & Instrumentation Engg), IELTS - 8.0, Work Experience - 33 months as Software Developer.

Till now I have acceptance only from Carleton University and they are giving 21 days to decide upon. Here, all my dilema starts.
- Should I go ahead with Carleton or should I wait for decision from any other universities. I am also considering the factor that M.Eng is self funded and Carleton's fees seems costlier than others. Which other university can I hope for an offer ? Also, is there any factor that will make me choose Carleton over others, apart from being a good engineering school like future, jobs, part-time etc?

Also, I have heard that for software related career, better study in Ontario. I know it ultimately boils down to my grit and grind but still, is that a factor also I should consider while making my decision ? For eg, if I get accepted in Victoria, what should I consider ?

Please help me out here. :-\ :-\ :-\

Carleton is one of the best universities inAerospace and Mechanical but doesn't have a great ECE/Software. Plus, They discriminate against b.Tech students.

Ya, it was my safe bet.
But considering the fact that right now it is my only offer, is there anything else that will actually help me deciding in its favor ? Something like capital advantage ???? Also, if I choose outside Ontario, say Alberta or Victoria, will I face much of problem while looking for software related jobs ?? Need some feedbacks as I am full confused.

Yes, It is a safe bet. There's no doubt there. I'm pretty sure I've seen a bunch of software/Computer related guys go back to their home country because they didn't get a job. Come to Canada after joining a good university which will get you a job after graduation.

Hey, I've got admit from Carleton as well.

My only admit as of now. But I am expecting an admit from Concordia as well.
So, I am in the same dilemma. Whether to go for Carleton or wait for others.

Please help people!
