Can anyone answer my other questions? I know they're silly but those small details count!

EDIT: (For those accepted already) How did you send ORIGINAL transcripts to get unconditional offer? My previous uni released mine. I have them. And I don't trust a courier with such important papers How did you all go about it? My previous university says they can send a sealed envelope with a letter stating that it DID finish with them. That enough?

Hi ... I am new to this group ... got offer MEng ECE for Fall 2016 on 18JUN ...
I fell there is very little time to process for visa ... Any inputs on this will be helpful ...
Seems few folks already got offers some time back in May ...

Yes, you can do winter and fall semesters with a 4-month break in summer as the courses offered in summer are very difficult and most students don't opt for those.
secondly, There is no problem in sending the courier with trusted services like Fedex, DHL. Most students use these because there is no other option to send documents. You can either get the transcript sealed in university envelope and send it with mentioned courier services ( will take max 4 days for shipping) or provide the address to your university to forward your transcript. (might take long to ship)

OK I contacted Carleton asking if confirmation letter from school + stamped copies from uni are enough. If not, i will send the originals tomorrow. The school disapproves of this, though (they also don't trust the services and don't wanna send the originals. They also stated "we can't send the originals 'cause it would be like we're applying in your name" ~silly response if you ask me but w/e)
End the thing is the envelope has their name on it. They are the sender. Even if i physically post it with FedEx and pay for the courier service, they more or less get to decide what to seal in it.

I don't know in what form your university gives you transcripts

But mine had the following format:
1. A cover letter introducing the course and the university and the marking scheme
2. attested copy of my degree certifcate
3. attested copy of consolidated marksheet
4. attested copies of individual semester marksheets
5. above 4 items stapled together and placed in the university envelope
6. university envelope stamped across envelope's flap which was sealed.

So no need to send original certifcates. Only certified copies which are called transcripts.

I ordered 10 copies of the transcript to be on the safe side.

regarding courier services, DHL and FedEx are very reliable.

I sent my documents to Dalhousie university via India Post which was airlifted to Toronto and then further connected to halifax via Canada post. Took 10 days but no issues with delivery and at 1/3rd the cost of a private courier.

Yeah those certified copies are exactly what my university wants to send. But Carleton asked for originals so I was thinking of sending them the actual Degree and Transcript , but hesitant to their safety. I don't care about copies, those can be remade. so it's good if copies are OK
And yes the school said they will include the letter

people who answer phones and e-mails at admission offices are generally bogged down with so many calls that they are quite careless about providing information.

What this person meant to say was original transcript. Meaning the photocopy should have the original stamp of certification by the university, and not a copy of the certified copy!

Yeah the school is adding their seal on photocopies of what I already have (considered the originals) ok then that should work
