therisaw I didn't submit any transcripts or resume. the trinidad embassy doesn't request them. however i saw on the jamaican embassy website that they ask for academic records and work experience.

P.S Does anybody know whether the Caribbean Canadian Visa Processing Offices and embassies are being affected by the strike?

Hey reshmie. exactly. I got that confirmed when submitting a TRV application for a family member. I submitted it on Sunday evening and by Tuesday at quarter to 4, I received the original passport request instructing me that the document needs to be sent to the Trinidad office. Note how fast that was!

Wow!

I did not read anything about any Caribbean offices being affected; the largest ones like from China, India, etc but who knows....

I will be doing my master's.

jesuscares thanks for your response, but i didn't check back in time, so i did not submit any academics, only the acceptance letter.

Hi All,

Please help me, I completed my graduation in 2003 and I have exp for 5 yrs, then after marriage due to my in-laws health problems I had to quit my job and conc on family. Now things are settled and I would like to get back to my career and to enhance my knowledge and to get in to a good position I have applied for computer related diploma courses in alberta and I am still wtng for my LOA. My doubt is, having career brk for 4.6 yrs from 2009 to present, will this effect my visa approval and is there any chance they will take this a as a serious issue, if yes, please help me wat can I do to explain this and get visa for my studies. Please answer...

hello pscet. you have shown very strong home ties with your marriage and employment. you need to show the sufficient funds which will cover the cost of your studies. CIC states that evidence showing one year coverage of this cost office will suffice. also you can also include a letter of explanation documenting the situation with the career gap.

Thnx a lot jesuscares, I am Indian and currently we r living in Kuwait for 5 yrs and I will be going alone for studies but will apply for spouse TRV multiple entry bcos once I leave from here and if I dont return for 6 months my visa gets expired and we will have to apply for new one, so I am planning to come back once I complete my studies and he will b visiting me wenever he gets some holidays or I have my vacation.
Also, my husband has contract with his company and he will b wrkng in Kwt only and he will b my sponsor and we will able to show around $45000 (Including Tution fee $9000) and I will b attaching his sponsorship letter, company contract, his payslip and Passport copies showing our legal visa status for all the years here. I hope this should convince them that I will return back. Please let me know ur suggestions and my chances.

hey pscet. ok great! you will be successful by the grace of god!

I am still waiting for a response. Has anyone else received a response from the embassy? Any Jamaican here received any update?
I am wondering if the strike is going to cause a big delay. My 7 weeks should end next week. I am praying that I receive some positive news.

Hi Therisaw,
I'm in Canada. My brother and i put his online application in while he was visiting me on June 26th. Still haven't heard anything yet...praying and hoping to hear from them next week as it will be 7 weeks. A friend of his put his online application in on July 8th and got a response a little over two weeks later but it was a rejection email response.

Let me know what's happening with yours.

I submitted mine June 24th my 7 weeks will end on august 12th. Ever day I pray for positive news. The anxiety is killing me. I dream about it every night and every minute I am checking my email, because all the others in the forum say the embassy email them when the visa is approved.
I will inform you of whatever news I get.
Im praying for the best.
