Anybody here who hired their relative as a caregiver? I would like to know how much was their salary and did you deduct taxes and CPP so they can file taxes in the CRA?
Haven’t hired a relative but you have to set up a business registration number as taxes and CPP must be deducted. Salary is based on the median salary for the NOC in your region, and must be full-time.

As @Naturgrl has previously indicated there is a very clear process of how caregivers must be paid, deductions, holiday time, etc. This isn't an informal cash arrangement. This arrangement will be tracked by CRA.
I have seen in my neighbors.. She is sponsoring her husband's brother's wife for her kids. And they received their temporary AOR#.. Her kids are aged 1 and 10..
So I feel as long as you can justify with proper documentation you should be good.
