It's getting a bit personal, but I need some suggestions from those who are already in Canada or familiar with the job market there. Any suggestions and comments are more than welcomed!
And here I am
- a 36-years-old male (wife and 1 child accompanying to Canada)
- hope to get visa within this year
- IELTS: 8
- have savings that can afford about 1 or 2 years for training
- intend to land next year and settle somewhere in the vicinity of Vancouver (thinking of Surrey, Richmond, Delta etc) (some of my relatives are living there, in fact)
- in my home country, I have been working as a language instructor (Japanese, to be specific) for more than 10 yrs
As I have done some research about Canada's job market, I don't think that I can land a job of the similar field there. Therefore, I am thinking of getting some training there in order to switch career. I have gone through all stuffs like government websites, statistics, jobfutures, sector materials, relating articles in newspapers, etc and etc. But the more I read, the more confused I get. What I have in mind now is some trades (plumber, engine technician, etc).
I would appreciate any information and guidance. I don't mind labor-intensive work, dirty work. I just want a full-time job with decent wage and stable prospect.
Thanks in advance!![Smile :) :)](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
