Hi guys, Iam an engineer and worked for 2 years in a private firm. However never enjoyed engineering and did it forcefully because of family pressure. I quit my job few years and now iam currently preparing for government jobs, when I heard about express entry and I thought it could be a great platform for me to start new life and new journey.

However if I get clear PR, should I enroll in college all over again, can I change my stream, am i too old? Would that hamper my job opportunities. What would be the best approach to get into the market? I would be really humbled if someone could kindly share any suggestions as Iam currently in a very delicate stage of my career. Thanks

to be honest, without good work experience for the NOC you choose, you dont stand a good chance to get a PR. you dont need to enrol in collage all over again but as a primary applicant you are supposed to show atleast 3-5 years of solid work experience for the NOC you are planning to use,

you also need to score good in the IELTS exam for better chances

I do have a decent work experience, I worked as electronics engineer for 2 years, so Iam getting points for that. If I get band 9 in IELTS my crs would be 437, which is not a bad score I think. Its just that I didnt enjoy my engineering and dont want to pursue that stream any further. So any suggestions on that would be helpful. Thanks

437 is not a bad score. so, if i understand right, you want to get a PR based on your engineering experience and then change paths once you land?? its not a bad idea. there are people who change career paths. you can certainly give this a try.

Yes Iam guessing I would have to enroll in college, and do some courses. My main concern was would those courses be worth it, in terms of getting jobs and all. I dont want to be umemployed or do survival jobs for rest of my life in canada, thats all.
