No, she wont be able to. She is a physician, and we all know, how Canada treats non-Candian physicians. So that's a no go.

So what do you suggest?

Sorry, I was a bit presumptuous, in thinking you are a software guy. What profession are you into, if you don't mind me asking.

No harm in her applying. she has to get her education evaluated by the medical council of Canada. Once that is done and you both land as PRs, you are PRs in your own right and there is no main applicant and dependent.

I'm into hospitality. what about you?

I explored that option quite thoroughly. But Canada doesn't want, I mean doesn't really really want IMG's (Int. Medical Grad). They have a prejudice against foreign doctors. They only want the white Canadian folks in medicine or graduates from their institutions. That way is sadly a very big no go for me.

I am a Mechanical Engineer. :D

Any idea how the PGWP and CeC are nowadays? The post that I got were from 2015. Are NOC A professions facing problems as well in CeC ?

No idea. IMO, when there are so many PRs in the country, they would have an edge over a job hunt over someone with a limited stay on their visa

10. What are the documents that you added for your FSW application? The entire document list, if you can.

11. Was there a Background check for it? If there was, what exactly happened?

12. When did you apply and how long are you waiting for? When do you think your next chance is coming?

background check is to confirm that you have been truthful in your application and check medical and criminal admissibility. sometimes CIC can contact your employer or even call an interview. it's random and at their discretion.

I haven't applied yet. I have entered the pool today after waiting for my ECA for ages. I am expecting an ITA in the next draw.

I really have to read up the Canada Immigration for Dummies !!!

If you are planning to apply via FSW, then you need to get your ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) to find the equivalent of your education according to Canadian standards. Without ECA and IELTS, you cant enter the pool to be considered for PR.

If you have a Canadian degree or diploma, you dont need ECA.
