Car question - Am I in trouble?

Hello all, I've read lots and lots of posts on this forum and from that answered a lot of questions during my PR process now I have a question that I can't find an answer to.

Basically, I am from the US and became a PR in the middle of October. I moved pretty quickly and put my car on my B4 but never actually imported it. A Canadian border agent at Lewiston told me to wait while I figured out the loan issues on the car and since my NY registration wasn't up until this December (9 months away from now) I didn't do anything about it. Given how poor the exchange rate is right now I have decided to sell the car back in NY, take a small hit to pay off the remainder of the loan (I'm upside down on it right now) and do away with all of my US bank accounts and my last asset there and then get a different car here with a more reasonable loan.

I haven't driven my car across the border and I live close enough that it's not too suspicious and haven't had any problems with law enforcement or anything but I am curious if anyone knows if I will get into any kind of trouble when I do decide to drive across the border and sell it. I only plan on making one trip and selling it at the dealership that I got it from and not returning to Canada in it (My wife will follow me and we'll go back together). Am I looking at any bad consequences? Have I dug myself into a hole here?

Thanks for your help!

I don't think so at all. It's your car and you're free to do whatever you want to do with it.
