my question is related to proof of funds, as i dont have enough funds in form of cash but do have some Gold and home + car worth 40,000$ in well known Housing Scheme. Can i use them as proof of funds with my application ?

Car No! Home maybe if you could get the value appraised by a well known Real Estate appraiser, but even then its doubtful that CHC will consider that. Besides that You should have liquid funds which can be checked and traced back you, like security deposits, saving certificates, savings account. remember CHC asks for bank statements from last 6 months and many a times asks for a providence of large sums entering into your accounts!
