CAQ Question

Hi guys,

In step 7 of the online application, I got this message.

" Step 7 - Financial information

You are not required to provide information about your financial situation. Click on the "Next" button to continue"

What does this mean exactly? I thought it's standard to provide proof of funding.

Hi Scott,

I have a couple of questions too. Need your help.

I got admission in Concordia University for Master's in Electrical Engineering for Fall 2014.
I've paid the 250 CAD and accepted the offer.

Now comes the CAQ; a couple of queries:

1. Do I need to show the approved bank loan to apply for CAQ? On the Quebec govt. webiste, it is mentioned that you should have the details of person/organisation who will be taking care of your finances during your studies.

2. Do I need to include the original offer letter of admission while sending the CAQ package to Canada?

3. Timeline for getting CAQ approved?

4. Is there a verification done by Canadian Embassy at one's work place? I'm about to put in my papers.

5. Do I need an experience letter from my company when applying for CAQ?

6. Did you apply for CAQ and Study Permit through an agent or on your own?

1.No bank approval is required to apply for CAQ .

2 .Yes, you need to send a copy of offer letter while applying CAQ along , a passport size photograph and a form which you will see after u applied your online Application .

3. Once you submit your online application you need to send the docs , it takes 10-15 days before they confirm on your application. Post 10 days you will get decision letter of CAQ on the portal and further 10 days you will get hard copy of your CAQ at your address .

4. I dont think as mine was not done from India .

5.No exp letter required .

6. Apply on your own by visiting the above link .

3- Around 3-4 weeks
4- May be no, but you should mentally prepare your company authorities if there is one

Hi Willyoldfox,

I think they have answered your question already. I haven't gotten my official offer yet so I'm going to wait for that which is expected to come out mid-March and then I'll apply for CAQ.

Which country are you applying from? Also, do you know where you're going to stay once you're in Montreal?

Yes, you need that checklist. It is to be signed and sent to Quebec along with other docs.
Write an email or call the authority issuing CAQ.

Btw, I got my CAQ within 15 days. Suggest you to apply asap as this is not a busy time for the authorities and they'll issue the CAQ quite fast.

I just logged into my CAQ account and downloaded the file without any problem but I noticed that when i use a download manager it doesn't downloads properly.

I was finally able to download it. The file size changed after a while so I guess it was a server delay/glitch. Thanks everyone!

15 calendar days; my documents were received on 4th March and I got the CAQ on 19th March.

I am about to fill the CAQ application online, but I have some doubts with the information provided by McGill in the offer letter of admission. I am curious to know what were your answers.

•As the start date I am considering the September 2nd 2014 since it is stated in the Recommendation Letter from the Department. However, the end date is not stated anywhere. The only similar information (in the offer letter) is the duration of the program which is 3 years (Masters degrees must be completed within three (3) years). Therefore, I am assuming the end date to be September 2 2017.
•Regarding tuition I am filling the form with the information provided in the web page (15,347) rather than in the offer letter (14,500).

I have contacted the department about these issues but they haven't answered so far. Thanks in advance for any input.

If u r a masters student then u should write September 2016 as your end date.I had the same confusion n asked my university they said to add another 2 years from your starting date.

I also asked them about tuition fees n they said two write tuition fee of 1 year ( 2* first semester )

I applied for CAQ on 26 Mar and couriered docs same day. On 31st Mar my file was updated with below info:
"Your file is now open"

Now how much time it will be going to take.
Please advise.
