Hi all,

My brother got his visa and when he filled the application, he chose Vancouver as his destined city, but now he is going to Montreal with me.
My Question is about CAQ. Would the officers at the airport ask for CAQ or it will not be a problem?
Would it be OK just showing them only a letter of acceptance for ESL school?

Please help me if you have the answers.

Thank you all.

What is his visa for? What kind of visa is it?

He needs to contact CIC and let them know he plans to change study institutions and provinces. The rules changed last year - and switching institutions without notifying CIC can cause your study permit to be canceled. He needs to notify CIC of his intentions in advance and wait for them to provide direction. This isn't something you do at the border.

Actually, I am afraid of CIC reaction toward my brother's visa, they might cancel it.
I am just thinking, if my brother and I went to Vancouver first, so he can get his study permit. Then, we take an internal flight to Montreal.
Would it be a good solution?

No - this absolutely will not work. The school he was supposed to attend will tell CIC he's not attending (they are obligated to report him if he doesn't attend/drops out). This will result in his study permit being automatically canceled and he'll end up with no status in Canada.

He has two choices: (1) Notify CIC of his change in institutions; (2) Attend school in Vancouver as planned.
