Hi All, I believe the cap on CIC website is updated within couple of weeks after they receive the applications. That is why they say "received till 06 Nov". Also in the Note they have said the website will be updated every week. However last time they updated only once for 4 weeks. That is still fine as I strongly believe they are not taking 2 or 3 months to update the CIC website. I feel some people are unnecessarily panic and spreading the unnecessary fear.

I guess it's not panic, but reasonable concearns. However, since little less than 1/3 of the overall CAP is full with apps up to late July there's a strong chance that FSW won't get closed till the end of this year.

The reason I posted is going by few members posts My application will not fall within the CAP. As my application is received on 20th Oct. But my Consultant says that we can go by the CIC website which says my NOC 2173 is still open at 699 count.

I'm sure you're aware of the fact that numbers given on CIC website are actual for the end of July - beginning of August.

Hi,

I need some advice for my peace of mind please. My application was received by the Nova Scotia office on August 27, 2014. However, one of my dependents, a stepson, was 18 years old at the time of submission. On August 1, the new immigration rule stated that they will only accept dependents 18 years old and below. My stepson turned 19 last October 19. Is this gonna be a problem?

Thank you very much.

No offence to the person who started this thread. But you clearly misread the website detail on FSW.

Applications received toward the overall cap: 180 of 500 (as of November 6, 2014) - Is for PhD applicants

Cap details given as completed applications is - The number of complete federal skilled worker applications received since May 4, 2014 is an estimate.

Also I am already in Canada applying for FSW.

Some info what people wont have for being outside Canada. There was a rumor that the CIC online system was facing some issues because of which many waiting for their post graduation work permit or study permit faced a major delay than regular time.

Now that CIC updated the caps they have started issuing PGWPs and SPs. So all you guys I am just like you waiting for the golden words on my email.

Good luck everybody

Thanks ray2210. You are true that taken the figures of PHD applications. But I thought I can apply the same date for all FSW applicaions. I have the following things in my mind.

1. Why would CIC mislead people with 3 months old figures? When do they do the completeness check? only before the CC is charged or even before?
2. There is not a single person who mentioned on internet so far whose application is rejected due to cap. Even the NOC 2174's 1001st applicant did not do that. If 1000 is reached 2 or 3 months back, 1001st or 1002nd, etc applicant must have done it by now. I am sure someone will do that but I feel there is time for it. Maybe I am getting it all wrong but there is no harm in thinking that late senders also have chance :)

Like this I have a lot of other questions in my mind. We will get to know the answers in next couple of months. I only started this thread out of curiosity and to get clarifications to the assumptions of mine or others.

I wish everyone who applied with a lot hope must get through regardless of whatever odds come in the way. Am I ambitious? :)

Friend, CIC does not mislead applicants intentionally. The thing is that they have loads of applications and obviously they are unable to process them immidiately upon the receiving. Therefore a backlog appears. Applications received in late Aug, Sep, Oct and Nov naven't even been opened yet.

Completeness check is done at the first place, if the package deemed complete and CAP is not full processing fee is charged and processing begins. On this stage CIO makes decision if applicant is elegible for FSW or not.
