cap confusion

The website says there is an overall call of 25500 and a sub cap of 1000 per eligible occupation ( 50 occupation ) , if we multiple 1000x50 it makes 50 thousand then how come CIC is saying total is 25500 .

am I calculating it wrong ?

They are completely separate caps. CIC will stop accepting applications for individual NOCs once 1000 applications are received. CIC will stop accepting applications for all NOCs if / when 25500 applications are received.

Correct. And if I am not wrong, the 500 out of of 25,500 is the cap for PhD category. Therefore, total cap for NOC category is 25,000.
