Hi guys, I can't link my PR renewal application to my CIC account, it just linked my original PR card application. So I just gave up. But recently I logged in my account again and suddenly noticed the status of my original PR card document changed from "valid" to "invalid". Does that mean the new PR card has been approved, so the old one became invalid? Or If that means the renewal was refused, then I didn't receive the refusal letter either. Is there anyone who is in similar situation? Thanks!

- Submitted PR card renewal online on Nov 6
- Tried to link this application to my cic account, only found the original PR card application was linked and original PR card status is "valid"
- Waited for 3 weeks, tried to link the renewal application one more time, still couldn't, but found the original PR card status changed to "invalid"

It's so recent that it does not make sense to worry.

It's possible - just from math (that more applications approved than have problems) probability more likely - that it's just part of the approval process.

I've no way of knowing but suspect that the old card may show as invalid when new one approved. (Side discussion possible that this marker may mean it will be invalid in 30 or 60 days, time they give for new one to be received).

That is most likely because your renewal application is not on system yet as processing may not have started. You will only be able to link when it starts.

Congrats!

Did you get any update in pr card portal? Did status change from submitted to ???

Where are you located in Canada?
Hi, I just checked, no update in PR card portal, still "submitted". I'm in ON. I feel recently they process PR renewal very fast and my best guess is IRCC has no time to update the information so lots of people can't connect their applications to CIC accounts. Don't worry, everything will be fine. You will receive your card soon.
