Hi. For some reason I dont have that Link button on welcome page. My FIL applied for eTA month ago from Poland and he is flying in 3 weeks. Necause 2 years ago his driving licence was taken away becsuse of alcohol use while driving we submitted it and they asked to send aditional documents. But we cant get further because of that missing Link button

Just to be clear - when you say his license was taken away - did he end up being convicted of a DUI?

What is DUI? Sorry for maybe damm question.
Driving Under the Influence.

In other words, was his license taken away because he was caught driving drunk? If so, do you know what his BAC (blood alcohol level) was?

Hi again,

Just got to know he had 1.01 pro-mils.
Also they keep sending the same technical answer with no improvements. shall my father in law fly anyways?
Thank You for any help #scylla

I'm not familiar with pro-mils. However if it's the equivalent of BAC 0.8 or higher - he's currently inadmissible to Canada (meaning he can't enter the country due to his criminal conviction). I suspect this is why the processing of his ETA is taking a while. I would not recommend that he fly to Canada until the outcome of the ETA is known because if he's inadmissible - he will be sent right back home on the next flight.

If he is in fact inadmissible, he will have to wait until five years have passed since his license suspension ended. Once the five years have passed, he can apply for rehabilitation. If the rehabilitation application is approved, he will no longer be inadmissibile to Canada.

So it's quite possible you're 3+ years away from him being able to enter Canada and visit.

Again, you should wait to see what the results of the ETA are before putting him on a plane.

The thing is..It is not that it takes a while due to them looking in our case. We cant even acces what they want from us. Looks like some technical problems they have on mycic.
Do they see on borderline that we applied since eTA is not needed till Autumn?
