Hi Experts,

I am currently working in Toronto as a Visual Effects Artist for Films. I am planning to apply for the express entry this coming June 2017, once I obtain my one full year of Canadian work experience.

I have a problem now. As I was preparing all the documents required to apply for my permanent residency application, I was writing a mail to my previous employers to give me an employment confirmation letter. I am having trouble in finding the correct NOC which fits to my previous job title. I used to work as a Quality Check Engineer(Quality Analyst) for films and Television series back in India. My mail responsibilities were to find errors in the master copy of the movie for Blue-Ray and DVD releases, so that it could be replicated and distributed(sold) all around the world. I have been looking at the NOC 5225 - Audio and video recording technicians and 5227 - Support occupations in motion pictures, broadcasting, photography and the performing arts. For either one's, job duties doesn't quite closely match with the given job description requirement.

I am loosing quite a lot of points without my previous work experience, which is scary. Please help me out with this. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you very much... :)

well, apart from NOC 5225, you could look at

http://noc.esdc.gc.ca/English/noc/ProfileQuickSearch.aspx?val=2&val1=2233&ver=16&val65=quality

Thank you very much for the response. I really appreciate it. But the NOC that you have mentioned 2233 is not quite fits my main job duties description because I wasn't into manufacturing. I used to work as a quality analyst for films where I used to watch the whole video(Movie) and report the issues which are to be fixed before the release of DVD or BR.

I would like to know if it is really necessary to have all the points in the job description matching with the duties of my previous work.

I would also like to know what if I cant find the NOC which perfectly matches the main job duties. What would happen in that case?

I am really worried about this as I am losing so many points.

Hoping for help. Thanks :)
