Hi guys,

A month ago I just landed in Canada, everything was fine and I'm settling in okay. But then one problem I have is I can't change my MAILING ADDRESS using the Address Notification tool from CIC. I've been trying countless of times and it's still my old home country address even though my HOME ADDRESS had been updated to my new Canadian address. I tried calling CIC and they told me to submit a case specific enquiry which I did, twice; but no answer. Does anyone have the same problem with me? I'm afraid that I won't be able to receive my PR card at all! :(

I saw some posts in the forum said that during landing, the officer will ask which address to send the PR card to. But I honestly don't remember if I was asked that during my landing process; maybe yes or maybe no. That's why I'm panicking right now as it's been 4 weeks already and no PR card.

Call CIC again and you might get a good agent, which will guide you

Mine was mailed to my physical address instead of community mailbox so it was undeliverable. First I changed my address online, waited a few days, called to make sure the new address appeared to CIC. Then I printed a form from online CIC to declare a Solemn declaration. It has to have been six weeks since it was mailed to you. On this form you can write your issue and give the address to send it to. Mine arrived soon after.

I had a lot of trouble getting the online tool to accept my address, too. Mine looked like a po box so I just made it look like a building and apartment number until it worked.

And as another poster suggested, call again to get a more helpful person.
