Cannot attend the test

Hi everyone,
My son is a minor we applied together for the Canadian Citizenship but he might not be available on the test date as he should be outside Canada .Can I just go alone for the test and continue processing my application without his.I mean to cancel his application after we receive the test date or I will have to reapply alone

How old is your son? And under what rules did you apply?
If you applied under new rules he won' have to take the test if he is under 18.

He is 16 years old and I applied under the new rule but he won't be able to come at all to Canada to continue the citizenship application Can I still go alone to the test and get interviewed with the
Officer and tell him my son is not coming and to cancel his application or I shall reapply again alone before the test date
