Well it's been six months since we withdrew and we haven't heard anything. Application still shows as "in process" on Ecas.

how come? I just ctc CIC today, the call centre said it takes around 1-2 weeks to get response. I think you should call them to ask.

We have. The call centre is useless, they can't do anything. My husband sent a second withdrawal request last week. We'll see.

Yes!

On November 14 we sent yet another email requesting the withdrawal. Ten days later I received an email from the immigration officer in Mississauga telling me that they wouldn't continue my application because my sponsor withdrew it on Nov 14 (yeah right!), and the money was transferred a few days later. So now we're finally done! It took six months for them to withdraw it, but they were quick in refunding, which I always trusted they would.

So lellen, you re-apply from outland without they confirmed the inland application is cancelled?

Do I need to wait for the confirmation of cancellation of my inland before I send in the outland application??

Thanks,
Anna

I personally didn't wait for the confirmation of withdrawal to re-apply outland. I sent my outland application way before and I didn't have any problems, but someone on this forum said I might. So I don't know if I was just lucky. The CIC agent said I could apply outland as soon as I wanted, so...

I wrote cic too withdrawal my application for in Canada too out of Canada on Dec 13 2014 and never heard nothing yet.. do I have too wait too hear from them or can I send my out of Canada application in anyway
I'm eager too get this process in the go ...

Hi all,

My husband and I applied last June 2014 in the Inland process, only to discover the abhorrent wait times. So, in November 2014, I sent in the withdrawal of sponsorship including the reason (switching to Outland). After receiving confirmation of the withdrawal request, we started collecting everything again for an Outland application. At the beginning of February, we sent it in.

Saturday, I received AOR that the Outland package had arrived. Today, I got a letter saying that my sponsorship withdrawal had been processed and, since they hadn't started any processing, we will get the full $1040 back. Yay!

Slightly anxiety-raising, my husband also got notification of the withdrawal, along the lines of "you don't meet the requirements for immigration to Canada because you withdrew your sponsorship". I'm about 99% sure it's just a form letter... but a bit nerve-wracking to say the least.

Here's hoping that my Sponsor Approval is very soon!

We didn't wait and sent the outland application as soon as we gathered the new forms and paperwork. If you are eligible for a refund, your fees should be reimbursed within 8 weeks of the withdrawal (as per CIC's own regulations), However and as it often happens with them, they use their regulations to wipe their behind. We had to chase them in order to get refunded and finally got fed up and sent a formal complaint to the director of the Case Processing Centre in Mississauga mentioning that we were ready to initiate legal action. We got our refund pretty quick after that.

To clarify... it's within 8 weeks of the process of your withdrawal. It took them four months just to process ours.

(Though if we haven't seen anything in the next 8 weeks, I'd love to hear what you put in your letter!)
