Hello,
Hope that you are safe and well during these strange times!
I am preparing my citizenship application and I am confused about few things that are not mentioned in the instruction guide. I will state them below and hopefully you can help me figure them out.
1- I was a student before getting my PR. My original study permit was issued on 24/August/2013 with an expiry date of 05/May/2018. However,
1-a) I lost this study permit and I got a replacement study permit with an issuance date 12/April/2016. What issuance date should I use? Should I use the original date of my study permit (24/August/2013) or the date when the replacement permit was issued (12/April/2016)? keep in mind that the latter date leaves a gap since the 5 years before applying for the citizenship starts before 12/April/2016 (it starts on 6/April/2015).
1-b) As you know, when you get the PR the study permit will be automatically cancelled, in my case I got my PR in 02/February/2018, which is before the expiry date as written on the study permit (05/May/2018). Which date should I mention in my application?
2- As for passports, I have two passports. Here is the information about the first passport:
- First issued on August/2012 with an expiry date of August/2013
- It was renewed on June 2013 with an expiry date June 2018
- Cancelled on May 2017 because I got a new passport when my country moved to biometric passports.
My questions are
2-a) which issuance date should I use: Original date (August 2012) or the renewal date (June 2013)?
2-b) Which expiry date should I use: the expiry date on the passport after renewal (June 2018) or the date it was cancelled (May/2017). I believe I should use the cancellation date, otherwise I will have overlap between two passports from the same country.
3- I went on vacations where I left Canada to country B, then from there I went to Country D, then back to Canada B then back to Canada.
- Also I went on vacations and conferences where I left Canada to country B, then country F then back to Canada.
My question, when I mention my travel history, should I mention the travel that originated and ended outside canada such as my travel from country B to C or my travel from B to F.
4- I noticed that the last number of my postal code of my address in Canada has changed, Now in canada post and in google maps you find the new number however in other websites it is still the old one. It makes sense to use the new one used by Canada post, however, in my pr application I mentioned the old one, I am afraid that this is might be seen as a discrepancy in the information by the immigration officer. What do you think?
5- I was research assistant with a professor in Ontario, but the money that I was paid comes from a grant held at a university in Quebec, when I mention this work, should I use the address where the work was actually held (Ontario) or the address from the money came from (Quebec), note that the tax shows that I worked in Quebec as it follows the source of income.
Thank you very much,
Stay safe!!
