Hello All,

I have a query on canceling Canada Visa. I am in India and received my Visa that is expiring in July. I am currently in two minds for using this Visa. Just wanted to know if I can cancel my Visa. I know if I dont user it it is cancelled though do I get any refund from embassay? Also are there any other implications that I need to know?

Thanks,
Jappu.

btw why u want to cancel it......no refund if cic already proceed ur case...

why don't u land in Canada and then come back. in that case u can keep ur PR alive and have the option to go back later. and if u have friends / relatives in Canada they can mail ur PR card to u in India.

Thanks Sanjeev. In fact that is another option I am thinking of. But it would be again an expensive option as I am family of four and will have to pay for tickets and few days stay in Canada. Also there are queries like do I have to take required fund while I am going for short stay?

Thanks,
Jappu.

Yes, you may cancel it. If you do not use the visa, you will be refunded the RPRF. However, Sanjeev's option and advice is something you should take into consideration.

yes sanjiv is right.

take any step cautiously.. so that no regrets later

I have heard from a friend who migrated to Canada and now a citizen that you can request to get additional time to land with a valid reason. So, if you can not make a trip to Canada right now, you may be able to postpone the travel by few more months. But still I think it is better to land in summer and not take risk with these things. This is if you care abt canada pr, you may have your reasons not to immigrate. Best of luck in what ever you do

If one decide to land in Canada, complete the PR formalities and return, how much time does he have to go back later?

@kris905

Almost three years

To keep your PR status active you need to stay in Canada for atleast two years in last five years.

Hi All Again.

I have taken decision to travel to Canada for 5-6 days. Can someone suggest what are the necessary things need to be taken care off?
- I am looking at queries raised at airport after landing at Canada and at customs.
- Is there any constraint on what shall I take in my first visit during immigration and later on for 2nd immigration?
- Do I have to carry all required funds (approx 21000 CAD for 4 of us) expected by embassy during first visit though it is small duration?
- Can someone suggest options for staying for 5-6 days at Toranto / Missisagua?

Hope this decision would let me get my PR wherein I will give address of someone in Canada and they will send me my PR back in India.
Request you to guide please.
Thanks.
