Hey guys,

I'd like to clarify this question. I started to work in Canada on September 21, 2016. I created my profile, I now have 418 points. I know that on August 1, 2018, my points will increase to 447 because the system will count 2 years work experience and I will receive the ITA. Should I wait to submit my application(Considering the date I started to work) or I don't need to?

Thank you very much!

Yes, you need to wait until you complete 2 years, to keep the points for the 2nd year. If you submit your eAPR before you complete 2 years, your CRS score will be re-calculated with only one year, and you will become ineligible for your draw (assuming your new score falls below the cutoff for your draw).

Thank you, guys. I'll follow the advice.

I'll receive the ITA, start to upload the documents, leave everything ready to submit my application only on September 21, 2018.

How did you figure out how the system counts your work experience? I started November 2016 and was at 412, so decided to take the language test again to see if my score increases

Hey Alice, I know because some of my coworkers went through a similar situation, and also I wanted to confirm my case, so I changed my work experience to a month prior, August 21, 2016, and the system counts 2 years work experience, giving me extra points. In the end, I returned to the correct date, that's how I confirmed that I will go to 447 within days.

That's really interesting! Never thought of it that way. So what date does your letter of employment state and what did you leave it as August or September? I should check and see if it makes a difference.

Also, I don't recall anywhere on the profile where one put the dates of when they started working. I have only seen the month and year. Please could you let me know where to find it from. Thanks!

I started to work on September 21, 2016. I'll most likely get an invitation in the first draw of August, but I will wait to submit my application until September 21, 2018, I don't wanna take any risk.

There is no day field on the profile form, but my letter of employment has it.

Well, you will have to apply for bridging visa at the same time. You should be fine!
