Hi fellow members - hope all is well,
Just a quick question since the search function didn't return the results i was needing.

Wife in Canada is sponsoring me to come to Canada for PR. We have finally completed all of our paperwork needed for this to occur. Now that I am trying to send my packet of paperwork in, i need to pay for an application.

Under the Fees Page "Family Class (Spouse or common-law partner, adopted children and other member of family)"
I'm presented with a screen with several many options:

Application Number of Applications Price (C$)/ Application
Family Class (Spouse or common-law partner, adopted children and other...
Sponsorship application (per application) $75.00
Principal applicant $475.00
Principal applicant, if less than 22 years of age.... $75.00
A family member of the principal applicant who... $550.00
A family member of the principal applicant who is less than 22 years. $150.00
Right of Permanent Residence Fee

She is sponsoring me as my wife to come into Canada from the US.. so would it be just "Sponsorship Application Needed?" , or , "Principal Applicant?" Just a bit lost - your assistance will be greatly appreciated :)

sponsorship fee = the fee for the sponsor's application - REQUIRED FEE UPFRONT
principle applicant fee = the fee for the applicant's application - REQUIRED FEE UPFRONT
Right of Permanent Residency Fee = the fee that pays for the PR process - REQUIRED FEE - can be paid upfront OR during process

The total amount to be paid for a wife sponsoring a husband (or vice versa) is $1040.

If you do not have any other people on your application to be sponsored, then ignore all other fees. Those fees are for dependants or if an ENTIRE family was being sponsored or if you, as the principle applicant, were under 22 yo.

the RPRF is also required, just not upfront. It must be paid in order to complete the process.

Thanks Gents...

Upon further review, we realized there are two portions of that "PAY FEE" site we can go to..

On the page: https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/epay/immigrationlist.do[/color]]https://eservices.cic.gc.ca/epay/immigrationlist.do
There's a list of options here below:

Application fees for permanent residence in Canada
Family Class (Spouse or common-law partner, adopted children and other member of family)
Quebec Skilled Workers
Provincial Nominee
Protected Person in Canada
Live-in Caregiver
Humanitarian and Compassionate
Spouse and Common-Law Partner in Canada Class
Permit Holder’s Class

If I click on the first underlined - Family Class (Spouse or common-law partner, adopted children and other member of family)
Then I am presented with those first application options 1-6.

Sponsorship application (per application)
Principal applicant
Principal applicant, if less than 22 years of age and not a spouse or common-law partner (including a dependent child of the sponsor, a child to be adopted and an orphaned brother, sister, niece, nephew, or grandchild)
A family member of the principal applicant who is 22 years of age or older, or is less than 22 years of age and is a spouse or common-law partner
A family member of the principal applicant who is less than 22 years of age and is not a spouse or common-law partner
Right of Permanent Residence Fee

But

If I click on the second underlined - Spouse and Common-Law Partner in Canada Class
Then I am only presented with 4 application options:

Principal applicant (including $75 for sponsorship)
A family member of the principal applicant who is 22 years of age or older, or is less than 22 years of age and is a spouse or common-law partner
A family member of the principal applicant who is less than 22 years of age and is not a spouse or common-law partner
Right of Permanent Residence Fee

Any idea which would apply to me... No kids and nobody else coming besides myself.. Shes a Canadian born citizen living in Canada...im a US born US Citizen moving to Canada.. again nobody else coming.

Figured it out. It really doesn't matter since it comes out to 550regardles of what I select.. same outcome, just one doesn't give you the option to bring anyone with you...which is the one I selected.

Total fees for all applications would be 1040 of which 550 is upfront meaning needs to be paid at the time of the application. Also there will be fees for medical exams and an FBI background check. The FBI check is 18.00 but finger printing also costs in some places not in other places. I had mine done in Canada at a commissionaire and it costs me 50.00. The cost of medical exams are different depending on where you go as well, but I think you may have already done those things or at least know the costs. Hope all goes well.

If possible, I would suggest paying it all upfront. There have been numerous cases in the past that having to pay the PRPF later delayed the processing by a few months.
