Canadian Visitor want to Visit US and to return to Canada

if someone has an extension of visit visa in Canada, can he/she visit US and can return to Canada? (original Visa was for multiple enty but expired and on extension)

Yes, as long as it only the US or ST. Pierre et Miquelon and you return within the validity of your visitor permit.

Hi, toronto30. I have a question for you!
When your friend applied for a visa extension, how did he do it? How long did it take? And how dose the extended visa look like, is it just a piece of paper with you attach to your passport? Because I would like to extend the visa for my friend with a multiple entry visa and his passport expires but he has applied for a new one should I wait for the new one or just apply now and after use the new passport? Thank's!

hi Robert, my friend has not applied yet. His visa will expire in january. What i read in this forum you should apply 30 days before your visa expires. If your friend has more than that, i would do the renewals of passport and apply for extension. I believe the extension is a piece of paper. Hi PMM, can u please also answer Martin's question here? Thank's but that's the thing I was planning on leaving for the holidays in america but if I pick up my new passport, the old one with the multiple entry visa is cancelled...cand I still travel, will the visa still be useful?

I do not think ur visa will be cancelled even if you renew/chage ur passport, cause ur new passport will have old passport info. My parents in 2011,went to US with a new passport, but their visa was stamped on the old passport attahed to the new one. So i believe you should be fine. Thx.

they travelled to toronto first and then went yo US and return to totonto after a month and flew back home.

No, you still need a US visa.

I have US visa but some people are saying that you might not be able to re enter canada...
