Hello everyone,
I'm sponsoring my wife for PR and we have decided to proceed with "outside" way. We both reside in Canada now, though. I translated all the required docs here, in Canada using the same company that I have used in past for translation my own docs for EE. Will that kind of translation satisfy my home country visa office or I have to do the translation there? This is going to be Moscow visa office.

That should be fine. Note that Moscow does not process family class applications anymore.

Really? What office in Russia does, then?

That's even better, Poland processing time is only 10 months now :) but it doesn't really change for us anything, right? We have to go through the same process and send our application to Ontario first and then they will deal with it?

The processing times on the website are normally very inaccurate. If the time on the website says 10 months, that means 80% of applications are processed in 10 months or less. With a straight forward case with no interview you can expect it to take less time.

Yes, you'll send the entire application package to CPC-Mississauga. After the sponsor is approved, they will forward it to the visa office that will process the principal applicant's portion.

Today I've found some information regarding the translation process.
There is two different requirements for translation: the translation itself and certifying the copy of original document.
1. The translation.
"Translations may be done by a person who is fluent in both languages (English or French and the unofficial language). If the translation is not provided by a member in good standing of a provincial or territorial organization of translators and interpreters in Canada, the translation must be accompanied by an affidavit swearing to the accuracy of the translation and the language proficiency of the translator".
My translator is a member is good standing of a provincial or territorial organization of translators and interpreters in Canada. So no problem here.
2. Certified copies of original documents.
To have a photocopy of a document certified, an authorized person must compare the original document to the photocopy and must print the following on the photocopy:
“I certify that this is a true copy of the original document”,
the name of the original document,
the date of the certification,
his or her name,
his or her official position or title, and
his or her signature.
Who can certify copies?

Persons authorized to certify copies include the following:

In Canada:
a notary public
a commissioner of oaths
a commissioner of taking affidavits.

That's what I'm struggled with now. My translator put their stamp on each photocopy and attached a declaration and affidavit of documents translation accuracy, but I did not fortify those copies with motary public or anyone else. Do I need go to notary in my case or not?

This is what I have now. The translation + copy with translators stamp + two declarations (see below). Do I still need to certify the copies or not?
