Hi Guys,

Is there a preference or priority list of Study Streams for which priority is given when applying for federal PR?

Can one get the PR for sure after completing studies through a Student Visa or does one have to first work and have work experience after completing studies before they apply for the permanent residency?

Please help. I'm looking to apply for student visa and get my PR through that window.

Thanks.

Hi,

Yes, there are some programs for International Graduates;

1. Medical Graduates (Master degree from British Columbia Universities): You can apply for PR under BC PNP without any job offer.
2. PhD: - You can apply with ease under Ontario PNP without any job offer.
3. Master graduates from Saskatchewan without any job offer (looks more like a pilot program)
4. Master graduates from Manitoba without any job offer (looks more like a pilot program, no longer accepting applications)
5. Graduates in Qubec (only if know oral french)

Thanks enfield. You are a champion. Quebec seems to be my only option from the list.

Does one normally have a good chance of getting the PR after entering through student visa?

Thanks again

Hi,

The biggest problem (which we all are underestimating!) is the offer of one ‘Full Time Permanent Job”. If you get it, you are through of all hurdles. Personally, I do not think if it’s so easy.

For PR under PNP, you need a full time a permanent job offer.

Hi enfield,,

Do we need to study for 2 years to be eligible under this program ?
or just an offer-letter, even with 1 year program?

Hi,

You may get a Post Graduate Work Permit provided you meet other conditions as well.

@enfield,

Yes, true...
But for applying for PR as stated above, 1 year work, + PR filling with offer letter under PNP?
