On the contrary it could be more difficult to get a TRV if one is applying from a country where one has temporary/visitor status.... it is advisable to apply from the applicant's home country/country of residence

actually I have done it before it worked out for me and for my mother. She was visiting Canada on visitor visa, she applied for Schengen visa and was accept without issue. You are right thought, better to apply from home country to be safe
