Hello,

I'm a student at the US but I'm Brazilian and my wife will sponsor me for the Canadian PR soon. I don't know where to apply from, Usa or Brazil?

I'm looking for statistics(timelines) from 2015 and after from anyone who has applied from USA. Just looking to know how long these applications are taking from these offices or if I should just go with Brazil. I have found contradicting information online, looking at the Canadian website it says 14 months for USA but other websites show everything from visitor visas to study permit take longer in USA. I understand that, 300 million people country, so if anyone has applied from 2015 and after through LA or NY please post your timelines here!!!

Nobody has applied for PR from either of those offices for far longer than that. The office for US PR is Ottawa.

Oh! I was so mistaken about LA or NY.

I saw your comment from another post about the processing time for USA applicants being around 6 months at the moment. I'm new to this forum and there are lots of posts, each post might have 200-400 replies haha. I'm not sure if there is an updated spreadsheet going around with people posting their timelines. I would appreciate if you could point me at the right place to find these statistics!

Thank you!

Send in your application; it goes to Mississauga. After that CIC will decide where to process your application. It won't be New York or LA even if they choose to go with the USA, as noted above.
When you are filling out the forms, I would just use the country guide for Brazil, but then add anything additional that the USA country guide would require, since you won't know where the application will be sent.
