I'm a Canadian guy sponsoring my wife from outside Canada, from South Korea to be exact.

We have submitted the initial documents (in April) and received an email from the embassy here in Seoul asking for some additional documents. One of the things they asked for is:

(X) RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) Fingerprints Result from Canada for your sponsor.

There was a website to the RCMP website but it doesn't have any of the information I'm looking for (at least not that I can see or have found).

We went to the Canadian embassy (which was of little help) and eventually got the form (which I hope is the right one) and were able to get my finger printing done.

My question is ... what do I do now? I can't find anything on the CIC website or in the sponsorship guide to tell me what I'm meant to do with the finger prints now. Am I meant to send them to the RCMP in Canada?

Have any other sponsors needed to get their finger prints done?

Please advise! Any help would be greatly appreciated :D

Yes, they want a background check for you from the RCMP. Link below should help you....

http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cr-cj/fing-empr2-eng.htm

Yeah, that's the link that they sent me in the email.

Read through that, did everything it says to write on the form including the address of the Embassy in the Contributing Agency section.

Now I just mail it to the RCMP address on that site and then what? They will mail me back the results?

Yes mail it to them, there is no fee since you are doing it for immigration purposes... courier would prolly be the best route... they get there faster and you know they received them. GL!

Thanks very much for the help!! ;D

Any word on how long it might take to get it processed and sent back?

That is a good question, specially since your mailing and waiting for mail to return in South Korea. Mail to and from the states takes a week from the mailing day so I can't even imagine how long it will take... did they give you a time limit to have it returned?

We requested an extension on the deadline for submitting the new documents and have until October 19th which is a bit ridiculous considering we were just at the Embassy yesterday and got the forms.

Do I need to send a letter along with the finger print form explaining anything?
