I have had several people message me asking about this.

As of today, my wife received PPR. It took 9 days short of 13 months to get to this point.

If you have a dismissed charge and are applying for PR you should obtain your state PCC along with court dockets for the dismissed charge. These items are in addition to the FBI PCC.

Hopefully these threads help people in the future!

Anyone who has any questions, do not hesitate to message me!

Congratulations to you and your wife on getting the Permanent Residency!

I tried to message you but I suppose I can't without a certain number of posts. Anyway, I am in the same boat as your wife was a few years ago. I got a DWI in Maryland in January 2018 but received a probation before judgement (PBJ) which ends in May 2019. I have been scouring countless forums and law articles to find help for my situation. I was pretty relieved to find your thread here. And your ultimate success gives me hope.

How hard was it for your wife to get the PR? Since getting a PBJ in Maryland means either pleading guilty or no contest, was that an issue during the application process? Some law websites suggest that a guilty plea or no contest is a conviction as far as Canadian immigration is concerned. You said your wife's charges were dismissed, do you remember what her plea was at her court hearing? I had to plead guilty to get the PBJ.

All this conflicting information on the internet has me stressed out beyond belief.

I am sponsoring my American Husband and it feels like it's taking forever. We got our app rejected in May and then resubmitted in July. We are still waiting for AOR1 from Sydney. I am scared we will get denied again because I sent the paper without a handwritten ink signature for his 18 yr old daughter, just a printed email copy.
I just want the AOR 1 so he can get a Temporary Visa to live here at least while its pending. We also need his job, so hoping that he can go back and forth, as we live on border towns

THanks,

THanks,
Your processing times are normal. The fact you originally submitted an application in May is irrelevant since that application was returned as incomplete. You submitted your application in July and will will take approximately 8 weeks to hear back from IRCC. So that means you should be hearing something in September.

I'm not sure what you mean by being able to back and forth across the border. There's nothing you can obtain that will guarantee he can do that. Whether he is allowed back into Canada will always be up to the CBSA officer he encounters at the border. Always possible he may be told he has to stop - or be denied entry. Make sure you have a back up plan if that every happens.

Thank you for this post @jeff198901. I had a conditional discharge for a DUI in AB, and applied for PR under PNP. I've passed medical, submitted RCMP check to CIC when they requested it, and just last week they asked me for "police report or court records of the DUI as well as the court judgment" which i submitted a few days. Now I'm just waiting to hear back from them. I also recently just got married to a Canadian citizen and my wife is now added to my application. Any words of wisdom or idea from anyone will be appreciated.

Does anyone know what the next step is after submitting court records and judgement in PR case like mine is?
