Canadian Relatives in EE application

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Express Entry application with regards to the declaration of relatives living in Canada. Once declared on the EE application (with required documentation), do the relatives ever get contacted by CIC or PNP Agencies (if applicable) to gather more information on them or the candidate?

If yes, what is the information requested?

I don't think CIC have time to contact the relatives mentioned in the application, but if you mention relatives in your application, you have to provide a proof of their status in Canada (copy of their PR card, proof of citizenship, passport, etc...).

What kind of documents do you need to provide to prove the relationship?

CIC doesn't, but PNP might. They ask for their PR or Citizenship proof, proof of address and work so I don't see the need for CIC contacting them when you give them enough verifiable information.

if relatives are siblings - certified/notarized copies of their birth certificate showing the name of parents
if relatives are parents - certified/notarized copy of your birth certificate will have their names. Usually passport also does. Marriage certificate, if any, which will the have names of their children

Additionally, provide:

- their contact details (address/phone/email)
- copies of status documents that people have mentioned (PR card, proof of citizenship, passport, etc).
- past 1-3 months of utility bills (gas/electric/phone)
- bank statements, tax returns, etc

... to prove that they live in Canada

I have an aunt there. She is a citizen. She is my mom's half sister BUT her dad (which is my mom's) doesn't figure in her birth certificate. When I first started calculating my points I would mention having a relative in Ontario, but I'm not sure if I can mention her anymore because of that.
