Hello, my husband and I live in Bermuda, he is Canadian and we are in the process of applying for my visa. I had my medical exam done in December (which I know is valid for one year). But, around the same time, my husband was short-listed for a job here, which, he really wants to accept, and, if he gets it, he wants to keep the job for at least for a year. We are also likely to be stuck in a lease for our apartment for at least another year.
My question is, if we apply for my visa in 2012, and the visa comes through, what sort of timeline does Canadian Immigration give you for packing up and moving to Canada? I read somewhere in the application forms that you are expected to take up residence in Canada immediately after your visa is processed. But if we are not able to move right away, will I be penalized or my visa revoked?
Thanks,
Sarina
