No, I'm not selling any...

We just received our Canadian passports!

I submitted the applications in person at a Passport office on a Saturday, and they were delivered at home in 10 business days (5 days before estimated delivery).

Tips:
1) Try to go during the week. It was a long line on a Saturday morning.

2) Don't forget to have your guarantor sign one of the pictures per applicant. The person in front of me didn't have that done.

3) Make sure your forms and documents are complete. The person behind me had to go to the back of the line to complete her form.

4) If an applicant's signature has changed, they need to sign a form confirming the difference. Fortunately, my daughter was with me. She's a teenager.

5) I had to sign for the delivery. If no one is usually home when Canada Post comes by, you'll have to pick up at the post office.

So, the processing time is much faster than what's posted on the Passport Canada site.

Yes, wish that were the case for citizenship applications.

As for tip 1 regarding trying to go to passport office in person during the week can be easier said than done for a lot of people. The offices are open 8am - 4:30pm during the weekdays. This is often difficult to make when a majority of them probably won't get off work until after 5pm.

This is probably why you see huge lineups during Saturday office hours.

The rest of the tips are good to suggest.

Another suggestion for parents applying for children's passport is to have one parent applying on behalf of the child and the other Canadian parent acts as guarantor. This can save themselves the hassle of having to find someone else.

That would be little hard for new citizens family; the guarantor has to write his/her passport details.
