Great to hear that there is some progress on your application. Iam sure if you call them requesting urgent mailing, they will be understanding.

Has anyone applied for a passport as a family? Can I place the family application in one package or is it one package per family member?

- From (location): Montreal, QC

Talked to agent over phone. My application currently being processed in Calgary AB passport center (which is odd) and he was ready to transfer my application to local office in Montreal region where it can be processed as urgent. I will need to take supporting documents such as travel itinerary, air ticket and a letter from office. But I haven't made my mind yet about travel given red-zone alerts and new travel restrictions imposed by QC government just yesterday. I may just stay put for now and let things play out on its own.

All the best. this makes sense. It's very ironic how much things are changing everyday - it hard to plan ahead even for a week!

I used CanadaPost - paid i think 13$ and the application was delivered the next day. The only thing i had missing was that i didnt get the name of who received it - i think i should have gone with DHL if i wanted this - but i dont think its a big deal.

Quick update:

Sept 11: sent PP application by mail to Gatineau
Sep 13: delivered to PP office
Oct 2: received certificate by mail (tracking #) and PP app approved
Waiting for PP now...

Please how do you get a tracking number for your citizenship certificate when you send in passport application.

You can call them after 10-15 days of them receiving your passport application to know the status and ask for it.
Otherwise they send an email once it is mailed back to you.

You are right. The address for using CanadaPost xpresspost is
Passport Program
Gatineau QC K1A 0G3

The tracking will show it as delivered to Ottawa as it is the receiving facility.

Few pertinent qs please
1 . They send you the tracking details over the email you mention in the application?
2. Before they send you the tracking details, you can only get the "received appl." status
thru your courier. Correct?
3. How do you get back your new passport and certificate ; hand delivered by Canada Post or
placed in your mailbox?
