Is there anyway to know if your passport is printed or shipped ?

Not on my end.

While it's great they're doing something about the line-ups and providing services to people who urgently need passports, I hope they also do something to speed up processing times for the mail-in applications.

Hello, I sent my mail application to Gatineau and it was received in Ottawa on the 6th of June.
I noticed that a payment pas processed on the 27th of June.

if I understand correctly and by reading all the posts in this message board i should be receiving my passport and citizenship certificate by mail in two or three weeks?

It varies. Some people (like me), got credit card charged more than a month or 2 months ago and still nothing. Some get it within the time frame you said after the charge.

Yup I agree and timelines vary depending on the passport office. I finally had my CC charge after 8 weeks but who knows how much longer it'll be for me. Maybe another 2-4 weeks is my best guess?

For proof of travel, they need to see printed itinerary or I can show it on my phone? Also do I need 1 print out or 2?

So I just called in and got a hold of someone, the lady on the phone told me that my child's passport is in production so she's guessing I should expect the pp within 2 weeks. I'll believe it when I receive it lol.

Unfortunately, it wasn't easy but if you keep trying you'll eventually get in. Took close to 80+ calls today

I kept calling every 10 days but past 2 weeks i could not get a hold of anyone. Was really upset.

I put the travel date as unknown.
