Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

So, I checked the delivery status and I was carded. Super annoyed. I had it specifically addressed to work so it would be delivered and I don't need to get it from the post office. Hopefully, tomorrow I will have passport in hand.

How to get the tracking number for Passports and Citizenship certificate? Are they emailing when they ship or do we need to call them to get the tracking number?

My wife took the Oath yesterday and we are waiting to apply for the PP
How is the Certificate delivered? CP or courier and how many days will it take to arrive.?

They will not tell you until you ask. I emailed and got a response the next day.

Update in red. Application for two sent through Xpress-post. Location GTA (east):

PP App Sent: 1-Jun
PP App Delivered: 2-Jun (tracking shows delivered to Ottawa, even though address provided was for Gatineau)
CC charged: 8-Jun

1. What document do we need to submit for the travel document, its just PR card which is essential in pieces now or COPR or anything else. I came as a PR directly and got citizenship.
2. How about the fees we need to approve on the form. It says 160 for 10year. Is that the only amount.? Any other courier fees etc we need to include. Its a straight forward application with no name change or anything.

If you are a citizen, you no longer can use a PR card. This card is garbage. You need to send your original citizenship certificate with your application. $160 is the total fee.

I just called Passport Canada again. Very nice agent. He told me that the application is in the examination queue and it’s just waiting for approval. I can expect something soon - he also mentioned the passport would be in the mailbox back BY the 23rd at the latest. I guess they are really busy right now - even if they want to call me to verify details they would’ve charged my CC before doing that - even that isn’t finished yet.

I have had my kids pasaport and certificate delivered at the same time today..

Certificate was in hard mail envelope and CP guy placed it in a bigger compartment. Passport was left in standard mailbox...

Mine and wife's passports are still in production and I have been asked to call next week....I am going to call on Thursday afternoon for an update ...

I am glad that wait will be over in few days....feels so good to see kids Canadian passport in hand...

You need to submit the original citizenship certificate. The fee is $160 with no additional charges. For personal identification, send certified copies of any of the following two documents. The copies should be verified by the guarantor signing the application and one of the photos.
1. Drivers licence 2. Health card 3. Any valid passport
