Over phone i was told 1 day. She said there is no guarantee that it will transfer because passport office can reject transfer.
Ugh! So frustrating. It’s been 2 weeks since I’ve called to transfer my file. The lady on the phone told me to wait for a call from my local office and to this day, still no call. I’m worried that I’d have to cancel my trip if I don’t get a call on Friday, since I’m leaving May 24 (tues). This whole process is a gong show.

We are in a similar situation. Which office have you requested the transfer to? Please keep us posted.

Did you try asking for an update on their link? Or called their number?

Can we use Indian Passport as proof of identity for my 16 year old son while applying for Canadian passport? He became 16 recently & we could not renew his OHIP card yet. Current Health card does not include photo & signature.

Application for myself submitted and received on April 11 and application for my baby submitted and received on May 4. No CC charge for either. No upcoming travel because we don't know how long it will take to receive but hoping to go visit family back home to meet our new baby in August.

At what point is it worth intervening? E.g., making repetitive phone calls, contacting MP etc.

Seems like even the transfer requests are taking forever so not sure its even worth buying tickets and going that route as there's more risk.

I would definitely not risk it and wait for the passports before booking anything. I asked for a transfer last week (flying out on May 30) and have not heard anything back. They could reject the transfer or call me the day before my flight to pick up the passports; it could either way...

My thoughts too.

After the whole journey to become a citizen to then be stuck in a place where you cant move around freely, its quite annoying. Hope you get an update soon!

Hello,

I am filling out the Passport application.

Can my friend and my friend's spouse be my reference? Both know me for more than 2 years.

I mean, is it Ok, if both my references live together at the same address and are related to each other (Wife and Husband).

Thanks
