I'm confused, why would anyone do paper (mail-in) applications anymore when you can do it all online?

Are you sure you are talking about passport application? I sent my application about 2 weeks ago and there was no option for online application.

you might be talking about citizenship applications that can be submitted online now. It wasn’t like that when I applied in 2020, though

Hi, any one have issues with oversea-born kids' birth certificate translation? My kids' birth certificates were translated in home country but CIC does not accepted. There is no specific of translation requirements in the passport application guide. Appreciate your sharing.

Maybe there are no translation requirements stated in the passport application guide, but at a minimum CIC requires:
If you are using the services of a translator outside of Canada, you must make sure that the person you are hiring is officially recognized or authorized to work as a certified translator in the country where the translation is being done.

Has this been done? If so, is CIC giving you a specific reason why the translation is not accepted?

Altertnatively, even though creating additional costs, find an authorised certified translator in Canada and translate document inside Canada.
