could you please give the address for Brampton office. is it the 40 Gillingham Drive.

yes..

make sure you don't go to 60 Gillingham Drive. I stood there for 50 minutes (because i saw the passport written in front of the line) and later security guard told me that for urgent processing I have to go to 40 Gillingham Drive.

Hi people!
As I promised one week ago, it’s time to share my experience with Canadian passport office, 74 Victoria Str , Toronto.
Today I picked up in person my passport and I saw that the office had prepared the passport one day before, 8 November 2022.
I gone in person to downtown Toronto last week; 4 November 2022( without appointment), waiting my turn for 2 hours and paying for an express procedure 210$. May be you asking me: - Did you show a proof of travel?-
- No! I only explained that I am travelling to do my teeth because in Canada that procedure cost a lot, but I do not have a ticket yet!-
The official didn’t say nothing, only got my application + 2 photos + asked for OHIP Card ( makes a copy) + certificate of citizenship. I payed for express service and she chose the day 9 November 2022 to pick up( same building). Believe me; official doesn’t care for guarantor or reference. Nobody called them, asking for me. It’s only to fill the application,99% nobody is going to call your guarantor or references.
please, Don’t go to Service Canada , the fastest service is ONLY Passport Office, pick up service not by post office pick up.
-I gone 4 November ( Friday)
-Saturday & Sunday is close 5,6 November)
-Monday, Tuesday printing my passport (7,8 November )
- Wednesday day 9 November, my passport was ready
Did you line up before the office opening time? I see the walk in wait times are like 2 hours . If i go in the afternoon would i still be able to get in after the wait time? Or is there a limit to people they accept in a day?

Did you receive your passport yet? Were you charged for the transfer to the passport office?
Hey! we just got our passports today from the Mississauga office. Fairly quick overall. Lots of people waiting to pick-up but process was fast - in an out in about 45 minutes. We were not charged anything by the passport office and they didn't request to see the hotel booking and the written declaration...

Ecstactic! Really happy and relieved after such a long process... but it is over now :):):)

Finally the process is over... 2.5 years for us! Wishing good luck to all pursuing their citizenships and passports! I will be glad to share my experience with anyone in the forum if I can be of help!

Either go early morning or late morning like 11am
Going after 2:30pm is taking a risk, you may not be allowed if there’s already too many people there before you. Play it safe go earlier if possible

Congrats! Very happy for you. Glad you were able to get the passports in time and for pickup without extra charge.

I called the passport number a second time and finally they said my application was approved and to allow 2 weeks for delivery. That will make about 17 months total for me, which feels like a lot but nothing compared to your wait!

Looks like travel plans are becoming redundant to speed up the passport application. I am seeing people getting their passports within 2-3 weeks just by applying in-person and regular processing time. Referring to applications submitted recently, Nov 2022.

Are my observations correct?

They do seem to be correct for applications submitted from mid October onward

Yea, your observations are correct. On their site, the service standard time is now 10 business days for in-person applications and 20 business days for mail-in application

Okay, that's amazing! As not too long ago I saw people waiting for 4 MONTHS!!! 10-20 days seems very reasonable! I'll just go with the regular application after my ceremony :)

Yes, people who applied between May and August seem to have hit the peak backlog, when everyone was taking summer vacations, and were taking 4 months. September regular service seems to be closer to 2 months. October onward seems to be back to standard turnaround times.

There are people from july still waiting for Gatineau to get their shit together……its still messed up for those who applied by mail in summer….
I strongly recommend to apply in person at a passport office….lineup early

Yes, I agree it's best to apply in-person at the passport office, and you can either line-up early or midday. When I applied, the waiting time for walk-in appointment shown on the IRCC website, was always more at 9am than at 12pm. At 2pm, it's usually a longer line than 12pm, and you also risk not being admitted, as they usually stop accepting people between 2-3 pm.

Also, I recommend paying the extra $50 for urgent processing, since you are then guaranteed to get it on a certain date, usually two days later, rather then wait in the usual processing line, which can take anywhere from 1-2 weeks to 1-2 months or more. So it's better to be prepared with justufucation for urgent processing, if they ask for it. I think a travel reservation should be sufficient.

I have an appointment for Mississauga Service Canada to submit passport applications for me & my kids. Does anyone know if my spouse can go instead of me on that appointment & submit applications on our behalf?
