Received my passport today from Mississauga Office.

You right, for me the same. They didn’t call my guarantor/ references too.
I think it’s only to fill the application but 99% office is NOT going to call nobody!

Good morning i just recieved my passeport this morning and here is my experience:
- I applied in person on the 18th of October with no travel date. They told me that the passeport was going to be mailed out on the 16 of Nov.
- I Called for update this past Monday(7th) and they told me it was printing.
- Today( November 10th) i received it by Xpresspost and i had to sign my initials to the delievery Man.

Weird thing, i applied in Ottawa passeport Office but on my passeport it says that it was made in Mississauga.

I've been reading in many post that service Ontario take longer than Passeport office but just for the information i applied at Service Ontario.

So applied on Oct 31st- walk in at London Ontario. Normal processing not expedited and received our passports today!

My understanding is that Service Ontario is basically equivalent to applying by mail, and from a quick look at the thread about mail-in apps, they also seem to be catching up and returning recent ones in a month or two. (Note, there still seems to be a backlog of mail-in ones submitted ages ago, and I'm not recommending anything, just noting)

Do you mean Service Canada? And which one in Ottawa - Meadowlands or Ottawa East on Ogilvie Road? I applied at the Service Canada on Meadowlands on Sept 26 and still no update for me. Maybe October applications are moving faster.

I'm getting the impression that the passport processing is also going roughly LIFO with the backlog, like the citizenship processing! October passport applications seem to be processed fast, while many from the summer are still waiting. Like how 2022 citizenship applications are being processed quickly, 2021 variable, and 2020 and prior very slowly.

Maybe that's why you received it fast! There is a passport office in Mississauga that mostly processes urgent applications. Maybe Ottawa is just very slow in general and sent yours over to them?

Seems to be a common theme about Ottawa being super slow in general, with citizenship applications processed by Ottawa also taking super long, but some of us who had our files sent to Niagara Falls got more reasonable processing times.

Sorry so I applied at 885 Meadowlands Drive Unit 105 that is a Service Canada Center.
