• From April 1, 2020, to March 31, 2021, Service Canada issued 363,000 passports. From April 1, 2021, to March 31, 2022, this number grew to 1,273,000 passports issued, with over 960,000 being issued between September 1, 2021, and March 31, 2022.
• Service Canada expects to receive 4.2 million passport applications during the 2022–23 fiscal year.
• In April 2021, approximately 69,000 applications were received, compared to 261,000 applications in April 2022.
• Since April 1, 2022, Service Canada has issued 210,219 passports.

hey guys, received my passport in mail today. It was super quick. did not expected this after reading timelines on this post.

Location: Brampton
Applied In-Person: May 12, 2022
Received by mail: May 19, 2022

Reached brampton office around 6 AM in morning. There were 20 more ahead of me. Took a camping chair, coffee and a netflix movie to kill time. Dint even realized when it got to 8:30 when passport office personal came and asked us to have proof of travel handy. Make sure you have proof of travel if you are going to brampton passport office, else they will not even allow to enter.

May 12 8:45 AM: entered into the office. Only 1 person per family is allowed to enter. Window 1 is verification if you have all documents ready and your travel is within 25 days. Given a token

May 12 8:50 AM: Came to window assigned. Person verified details and asked us the urgency of passport. You can pay $50 for express pickup, $20 for normal pickup OR nothing for mail in delivery. I choose mail in delivery and was given a date of May 27 for mail out. Lady also asked to be at home for collection of passport, else you have to go and collect from Canada Post.

May 12 9:10 AM: Out of office with receipts.

May 19 12:30 PM: Canada Post person rang my door bell with good news

They were not allowing at Mississauga office. Not sure about other locations.

You can try in Kitchener. Its not guaranteed but many have reported that they have a separate line and are accepted

Went in ottawa today and they were saying the people traveling in 26 days and more to go to the service canada not passport canada

I don’t know for other locations but with the new articles it might be the same, coz there are prioritizing people travelling in 25 days

I'd very much appreciate reports from others about experiences at other GTA region offices; I'll have to do this sometime next week and figuring I'll have to get up early to line up but that conflicts with getting kids to school etc. I can get to most GTA offices (or even eg Brampton and Kitchener) if it'll save time.

Look at latest google reviews for centers in Kitchener & Hamilton. That will give some idea.

guys, for urgent passport pickup, can one family member pickup the passport for all others? Or, should all family members be present at the time of picking up?
