Hi guys,

as I'm sure you know, most Canadian universities state a GPA of 3.0/4 for the last two years of undergraduate degree (for entry into MBA) among other factors such as work exp and GMAT. My q is, how religously do they follow the GPA rule?

Have interntional students (Pakistani in particular) been accepted with slightly lower GPA? My GPA over the last 5 semesters was averaging between 3.2 to 2.6, one semester had a very low GPA of 2.4.

My q is should I even attemp applying to Canadian unis or just stick Aussie ones (really don't wanna go to AUS).

Unis being looked at: Calgary MBA, McMaster Coop MBA, Laurier Coop MBA, Dalhousie Corporate Residency MBA, Brock Co-op MBA

Do reply guys, expert opinions needed plz!

seriously, no on? i thought users in canada would be up by now...

Hi, it varies from uni to uni. I applied to Schulich and UofT and was accepted in both, my GPA was over 3 so I did not face this..but based on the research I did the admissions committee only waives the GPA requirement if you have 6+ years of work experience or if the rest of your application is outstanding.

Why are you going for co-op mbas? Those are for fresh graduates with zero work exp. Co-op MBAs are actually more strict on academics (gpa and gmat).
And from the list you've mentioned, I'd say mcmaster is the best for MBA and Brock is the easiest to get into.

I think if I score well enough on my gmat, would hopefully be able to get into both Brock and Uvic, but then would I want to go?

I am really hoping I make it into Mcmaster, that would be my first choice!

Well am hoping and praying...thanks for the input

I can say that for Brock - if your GPA is low - they will ask you to enroll for their CAS program for the 1st year and then the 2 year MBA ISP program.

Thanks

What is this CAS program? what do they really offer in that?

Can you please your experience on the same.
