Hello,
So I got legally married to an international student back at her home town. And now we are returning back to Canada to complete our studies. She is not interested in getting a pr status, we want to complete our degree and settle back at her home town. Is there any paper work that I should fill out in order to change my status from single to married? Not sure please advice

You want to list your status as married next time you file your taxes.

you still have to update your change in status with Canadian Immigration, in case you want to visit in future

you need your marriage certificate/translated if not in English , pictures and video of wedding.

you have to show these to officer at the port of entry to canada

He is Canadian so he does not have to update his marriage status with immigration.

It's rather that his girlfriend might have to update her marriage status with immigration but as long as she isn't asked about it, I do not see that she has any obligation to tell them that she got married as she enters. However, if she applies to renew her study permit, applies for an off campus work permit or anything else from immigration, she should update her status to married.
