Hi All :

Am planning to take IELTS in Jan and came across Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 8 in all four (4) competencies required for professionals interested in taking the CHRP exam .

Please advice as to how similar or different it is to IELTS ?

What band in IElTS would be equal to the level 8 of CLB ?

Kindly brief about the 4 competencies ?

Thanks ,

MN

Hi,
I appeared for IELTS 2 weeks back. I have more than 2&1/2 years of post PhD experience in Canada. I am still working here and will be continuing for one or two years. My test result is as follows:
Listening: 7.0;
Reading:6.0;
Writing: 6.5
Speaking: 8.0

How many points I would get from IELTS? Is it 16 or 12? What's my CLB level? Is it 7? Is this good for applying for Canadian Experience Class category? I am planning to apply within two weeks.
Thanks in advance!
